Velvet is coming back in style full force and we’re jumping on board. The lush fabric has transformed beyond vintage floral patterns to become sleek and versatile. Its subtle texture can add depth to any space whether on custom banquettes or barstools. Below are some of our favourite inspirational projects using velvet.
Restaurant No2 in Belarus is essentially a how-to guide on the use of velvet. The pastel colour palette of the fabric against the concrete floor and textured wall give a tough edge to the feminine aura. The Quadro Chairs and Brass Edge Table tops are the perfect match to the U shape banquettes.
Cod’s Gift gets a lot of mentions in our blogs and we’re certainly not stopping anytime soon. The rich sapphire tones of the venue are nothing short of dreamy. Though the whole wall is painted in a similar shade to the furniture, the velvet of the banquette stands out. Coupled with the Tess Upholstered Chair with a gold frame it adds a punch of modern luxury.
The Gallery at Sketch in London is sea of bubblegum pink that appears straight out of a 1960’s interior magazine. The pink velvet in the scalloped chairs and banquettes against the gold accents add a luxe vintage vibe. Finishing off the look with a multicolour chevron floor and wall of illustrations provides contrast and dimension to the space.
We recently worked alongside The Star to update their lounge area in a major way. Their use of abstract carpet is like walking on artwork. Our Cher Tub Chairs in fuchsia velvet and matching cushions gives the room a vibrant kick. Jackson Teece then finalised the look with custom coffee tables, tying everything together flawlessly.
